Cross SprintCross between a Cross Country and a Sprint. A course is set using both motocross and enduro style obstacles. Classes are started as a mass start on the MX grid and after completing half the MX track, complete a 5 minute enduro loop through the bush and then back onto the MX track to complete the loop. Once all riders from the class have completed, the next class is set off. We should get 4 or 5 rounds during the day, giving plenty of time to watch the fast guys or just bench race with your mates. EnduroSimilar to a car rally, riders cover up to 200km in a day over all types of terrain. Two riders are started each minute. The course is divided into sections with a time limit to complete each section. Overdue or early riders are allocated 60 points for each minute late or early in the section. Special tests, either cross country or motocross style are timed to 1/10th of a second with 1 point per second. Scores are added at the end of the day with the lowest score winning the class. Sprint/Enduro CrossBased on the special test portion of an enduro, a course is set using both motocross and enduro style obstacles. Riders are started individually, 10-20 seconds apart and are timed to 1/10th of a second. Normally there are 5 heats during the day, giving plenty of time to watch the fast guys or just bench race with your mates. Rally SprintSimilar to Sprints, but includes a trail ride section between the special tests, so that the rider does not sit around waiting for the next round. The trail ride may be between 30 and 45 minutes. Cross CountryNew for 2003, this event takes to best of enduro and lets you have a rest each round. Starting with a 6-7 minute special test timed to the second, riders then go thru a flying finish to start a 20-40 minute trail section timed to the minute. No penalty for getting in early, you gain 60 points for each full minute late. You then have a rest before your next heat. MotocrossIf slamming whoops, carving berms and flying high over jumps is your idea of fun, then motocross is the sport for you. Motocross is one of the more physically demanding forms of motorcycle sport that really tests the limits of both body and machine. Motocross is run on tracks man made or natural terrain and produces fast, close and exciting racing. Grass TrackSimilar to motocross, except run over natural terrain only, with no jumps. |
